Golight, Inc. was formed in June, 1993, as a Nebraska corporation. The purpose of this company was to manufacture, distribute, and market a new invention, which was identified as the GOLIGHT. This light was conceived as a portable, freestanding light. From this idea, concept drawings, engineering drawings, and patent searches were processed. A complete market analysis was researched and revealed a market for portable spotlights, permanent mounted lights, and high intensity spotlights. This research gave background to formulate a comprehensive approach to the potential markets and the decision was made to proceed with tooling and production.
In conjunction with this effort a marketing plan was detailed with a constructive approach. Marketing began in 1994 with the development of preliminary brochures and exposure to the marketplace through press releases and editorials.
Our first product, the Golight, was received in September of 1994, which enabled us to begin to implement sales to the following market areas:
Golight's first introduction was through Cabela's catalog, December, 1994, and from that time markets have expanded to over 25 catalogs and numerous major distributors in each market area. Golight has experienced steady growth in sales as new products are identified in the marketplace.
Golight, Inc. has grown to more than 40 sales rep organizations located throughout the US and Canada, and our international marketing efforts include 45 countries. The company is aggressive in attending major trade shows and is continually opening new markets.
